Charter amendment updating departments, boards, and commissions
The Board is asked to consider a charter amendment that would make numerous updates, including requiring the Board to amend certain initiative ordinances, transferring commissions to the Municipal Code, convening a Commission Streamlining Task Force every ten years, changing reporting requirements, adjusting membership qualifications, consolidating bodies, updating planning for the Department of Children, Youth, and Their Families, modifying removal criteria for specific boards, updating the Public Utilities Commission’s responsibilities, shifting settlement approvals to resolutions, and authorizing the City Administrator to handle real‑estate strategic planning.
